Rules, Regulations and Policies
Costumes
- Costumes allowed at all levels but not required
- All competitors must be in dance appropriate clothing
- Costumes includes garments with rhinestones, sequins, feathers, and floats
TBA Rules
- The University of Waterloo Ballroom Club is not responsible for guaranteeing a TBA partner
- Dancers are responsible for contacting their desired TBA partner
- TBA sign up sheet can be found here
**Pro-Am or Am-Am couples will dance in regular amateur categories but only the lower level dancer will be judged**
Newcomer Rules
- Restricted to dancers with up to 8 months of dance experience
- Newcomer registrants can use steps from the Pre-bronze and Bronze levels in the ISTD/IDTA syllabi
Refunds
- Refunds may be offered depending on extenuating circumstances
- We will not provide refunds for no-shows
Syllabus rules:
- Figures are restricted to the ISTD/IDTA for their respective levels
- Exception: Bronze, Silver and Gold Paso Doble will allow all syllabus steps
- Newcomer registrants can use steps from the Pre-bronze and Bronze levels in the ISTD/IDTA syllabi

Levels
- Competitors can register for two consecutive levels (example: Bronze and Silver, but not Bronze and Gold)
Parking Information (Lot X is free on weekends, so that's a better option than lot W if you can find a spot!)
